Whitney Golden is an American photographer documenting life through experiences above and below the surface.

Imagery grants us the ability to travel across time, connecting cultures and preserving the wild for generations to come, one picture at a time.

Miami, FL

I grew up in the swamp, otherwise known as Florida. The salty air, the otherworldly calm of ice-blue springs, and the call of the ocean pulled me in like a siren. Looking back, I reckon I was trying to outrun home—first exploring every corner of the Sunshine State, then the open roads of America, and eventually, the globe. A deep passion grew to understand different cultures, landscapes, and the quiet rhythms of how the world moved.

Curiosity led me to motorcycles, classic cars, and learning to fly. I struggled to sit still in a classroom but carried a hunger to learn, eventually graduating with a double major and minor. I chased opportunities through several entrepreneurial pursuits and jobs, but it wasn’t enough. Restlessness needed discipline, so I turned that drive toward becoming stronger at business.

For seven years, I worked my way up through a global corporation, learning various layers of the business until my work began catching the board’s attention. There’s a move in stunt driving called a Rockford Turn. You’re barreling in reverse, then slam the brakes, spin the wheel, and let momentum whip you 180 degrees before shifting into drive to move forward without losing speed. Family became that brake, slowing me down just enough to hear the quiet voice calling me home.

This is the part of the story where I don’t know what happens next, it’s still being written. After more than 20 years with a camera in hand, that voice has always been imagery, exploration, and connection — documenting this wild chance we get at life.

If you have an interesting project, i’d love to work with you or if you love what I do, bring a piece home.

Always Moving Forward,
Whitney
